61 days. [Developed and released in 1976 by Dr. Henry Munger of Cornell University.] ‘Marketmore 80’ is bitter-free with multiple disease resistance, uniform shape and size (8 to 9†long, 2-1/2†diameter), with a dark green skin, and is the earliest cucumber in the popular ‘Marketmore’ series. Because cucumber beetles are less attracted to bitter-free varieties, there is also less chance of disease transmission. Regardless of the cucumber variety grown, we suggest inter-planting several plants of vegetable amaranth (which self-sow each year), attracting cucumber beetles away from most varieties of cucumber. ‘Marketmore 80’ is resistant to six diseases (scab, CMV, PM, DM, ALS and AN). This is one of our most dependable varieties, and is very easy to grow.
