Withania somnifera SOLANACEAE
This member of the Solanaceae (tomato family) is from India. While it is easy to grow, it does not do well in cool, wet conditions. Medicinal: The roots are harvested in the Fall after frost. Used in Ayurvedic medicine as a ginseng-like, strengthening tonic, primarily for weakness and exhaustion.
